4th of July

I've had a lot of favorite weekends this summer, but the 4th of July weekend definitely ranks in the top 5. I witnessed the marriage of one of my best friends on the 2nd and Xavier witnessed the marriage of one his best friends on the 3rd. On the 4th we reflected on the weekend while we squished sand between our toes. I have never seen the Oregon coast look as beautiful as it did that weekend.

You know those really spectacular jumping photos that people do? Well, Xavier and I tried that. It was maybe the most awkward thing either of us have ever done and we discovered two things...

1. White girls can't jump.

2. Mexican boys can't jump (either).

But it was worth it, because the belly laughs? There were plenty of 'em.

The night before was spent dancing. And dancing. Aaaand dancing. Not only did we dance, but we DJ'd and by we, I mean Xavier. And I gladly photographed the evening. I met great people who have been a part of Xavier's life much longer than I have. I love to meet people who have known him for a long time. I love hearing stories especially from his friend's parents. I like to hear how he was growing up. It's nearly impossible for me to wrap my mind around the fact that I never knew his parents. I absolutely cherish moments when I meet life long friends or have the opportunity to have a heart to heart with Aunts and Uncles.

This darling couple is the Mother and Father of the Groom.
